In need of information and cybersecurity

Information and network security are now important
Almost every media outlet has issued a central bank warning to ensure increased cybersecurity, especially in cyclic times. There have also been recent incidents of ATM fraud, credit card fraud, or hacking of IT firewalls in several commercial banks in the country. In particular, we have not yet been able to fully recover from the impact of the 2016 Bangladesh Bank reserve theft. However, this fraud is not so much about cybersecurity as it is about physical theft, which has broken down IT or technical firewalls. However, analysts, including the central bank, have suggested rethinking the cybersecurity situation in Bangladesh.
In today's world, the right to information and network security has become an issue. Realizing the importance of security of all developed countries are taking steps to solve the problem. However, developing countries are still far from guaranteeing this right. Information security cannot get ensured with technology alone. It is momentous to take steps to address the network threat and create a secure information society.

There have been groundbreaking developments in the ICT sector. Developing countries have a golden opportunity to exploit this potential. The current Ministry of ICT has focused on helping to reduce poverty by strengthening education through ICT among the rural poor. The ministry is also planning to improve the efficiency, productivity, and quality of education by building a culture of competition and transparency. If this culture gets developed, the common man will improve, and it will be able to contribute to the overall development of the country. The rural population is being given access to information up to a stage for better cultivation and better marketing of their products. It gets expected that a large number of citizens will be able to work efficiently by receiving the necessary information.

Nowadays, education has become a source of economic strength and power. For this reason, restrictions on the exchange of knowledge are gradually increasing. Ongoing globalization and fiercely competitive trade have had a significant impact on the goods and services sector. In this situation, if we want to play a decisive and beneficial role in increasing the welfare of all, especially the poor people, the science and technology system of Bangladesh must continue with new vigor. With this goal in mind, the concerned ministry has adopted some policies to deal with the growing cyber threat. In the meantime, the National ICT Policy, Cyber Act, Electronic Transaction Act have got adopted. Various organizations, including the government, are working on proper education related to computer alert and emergency response.

Bangladesh is new in the cyber world. The society here is using cyber resources with great enthusiasm, although despite the maximum attention, technological development and growth are progressing slowly. The government has formed the National Council for Science and Technology (NCST). Executive committees have got form in the NCST; Their job is to implement the policy made by the council. The development of ICT has been given utmost importance in the National Information and Communication Technology Policy. Work is underway to capture the multi-billion dollar software export market, ensure good governance, and implement ICT related policies. Special allocation gets required for software projects. To build world-class ICT professionals and to do well, we need to get a world-class ICT institution. New courses need to be introduced in schools, colleges, and universities so that our new generation acquires knowledge on cybersecurity and information security and qualifies to build the country's ICT infrastructure.
To achieve this goal to get built across the country. It will ensure the right to information of every citizen. It will pave the way for people's empowerment and strengthen democratic values and ideals for sustainable economic development through the use of human resource development infrastructure, good governance, e-commerce, banking, government services, and all kinds of online ICT services. Emphasis has been placed on the use of ICT in agriculture to harness business potential. It has also got a place on the use of ICT in social welfare, transportation, and justice systems.

Cybercrime laws have got enacted. More projects are needed to increase cybercrime law and enforcement capabilities and introduce training across the country. The country's policy should make further enhanced by the privacy policy, trust marks, and other self-regulatory measures, which will improve product quality and service and increase consumer confidence.
We are constantly entering a more digitalized world or financial system. New initiatives are being taken and have got taken with alternative banking or digital banking. Here prevention is more desirable than remedy. More advanced processes and infrastructure can help us avoid unwanted problems. So now is the time to ensure cybersecurity considering the uses of technology. All quarters have to come forward for their interest.
