Chhatra League activists raped a woman in front of her husband.
Allegations of gang-raping a young woman in the hostel of Sylhet MC College has leveled against some leaders and activists of the Mahanagar Chhatra League. The incident took place in the Baluchar area of the city around 9:30 pm on Friday. The accused BCL activists are said to be followers of Ranjit Sarkar, a former youth and sports secretary of the Sylhet district Awami League.
Locals said the raped girl came with her husband to visit MC College in Sylhet on Friday (September 25). At one stage, around 8:30 pm, the young woman's husband came out of the gate of MC College to smoke a cigarette. At that time, some young men wanted to take the girl away by force. When the young woman's husband protested, the BCL activists started beating her. At one stage, the BCL leaders and activists took her and her husband to the MC College dormitory and gang-raped the woman along with three or four other leaders and activists.
At that time, the leaders and activists of Chhatra League also snatched a 90 model car with them. After receiving the news, the police searched and recovered it. They sent the girl to the OCC center of the latest Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.
Jivan Krishna Acharya, superintendent of Srikanth hostel and assistant professor of political science, told the media that members of police and RAB-9 were present at the spot soon after hearing the incident. After that, the police recorded the statement of the raped girl and sent her to the OCC center of Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.
How the accused entered the hostel while the hostel was closed; In response to such a question, he said if the hostel is closed, some students remain in the hostel unofficially. Some students did tuition. However, we will be able to verify whether the accused are students of our college or not. And I will be able to say on Saturday what steps are being taken by us.

Police have launched an operation to arrest the accused in the incident.
