What is secularism, and why is secularism necessary?

SECULARISM

Since many people jump on the bandwagon without knowing the meaning, I felt the need to explain the lexical meaning of the word 'secularism.

What is secularism?

Secularism is the principle of separating the influence of religious organizations or religious beliefs from the state or state representatives. It means that the state will never judge a person by his religion. People or organizations of all communities will have equal rights with the state.

What is the relationship between secularism and irreligion?

No relationship, there is again. In principle, the secular state will never treat anyone unequally for the sake of religion. The state will have no religious identity of the people of the country. It does not need it. A person can work in any position of the state, be it Hindu, Muslim, Buddhists, Christian, or follow any of the traditional religions the people can keep their faith in a private place. But religious beliefs cannot come out of a personal shell when it comes to fulfilling one's responsibilities. The Prime The Minister of the country does not care about any religion. But it will not affect any aspect of the state. So secularism does not mean compulsory irreligion at the individual level, but it is not a factor at the state level.

Just as religion does not play a role in the weight of the vote when it comes to electing a representative of the state, so the voter cannot accept discrimination when receiving services from the state. Just as money has no religion, so must the state.

For example, when hiring teachers in a state-approved school, employers should always give priority to qualified candidates. Even if all the three employers are Muslims, they should not value more priority to any Muslim candidates than candidates of other religions. But they will have 100% right to practice their religious activities in their own private life. The candidate will have the same.

Why the need for a secular state?

I will give two examples without going into any explanation.

There was an excellent blogger named Chairman007 on the Somewhere in the blog. I liked his funny writings. Suddenly he turned his attention to religion. Then I usually call his condition orthodox/extreme. I have seen many good people I know suddenly change. I believe that those who do religious work regularly do it for the sake of peace in their personal lives. The human mind is very diverse.

They can seek peace. Some do religion,  music, literature, charity. Reading the conventional biographies of the great historical pious people, I have always seen that they are tolerant, kind type, full of love. But when I see a lot of hilarious people suddenly change like this, I notice in most cases that they start disliking everything. Different religions have different opinions and everything. However, one day a few months ago on Facebook, I saw a post by the chairman that an Indian friend of his was looking for a freelancer. Such and such a requirement. Finally, he wrote about a personal condition. "The candidate must be a worshiper." One commented below, "Then don't take non-Muslims even if you have qualifications"? He wrote no.

I shared that status with the  "This requires a secular state."

One of whom went to jail for militancy) suddenly sat down with a fatwa that Hindus could not worship in so many Muslim countries. Lots of arguments, that's it. However, everyone in the department, regardless of religion, has been cooperating worship is coming every time.

The two examples I gave are that when people like them are they impose their personal views on others in their power, which state cannot improve.

Because efficiency it requires to fulfill anyone's responsibility.

Born in a house, what is culture - these are not important. A simple example is the imam of a mosque or the priest of a temple made any Muslim or Hindu? No. It gives the person who has qualified to fulfill that responsibility by following a process.

If the state is not secular, only dissidents will have problems - not that. It has an impact on the entire community.

Suppose 4 Bangladeshis work together in a company and only one person from another country works there he is very skilled. Since Bangladeshis are more in number, they make their own decisions. Although many foreigners offer solutions, Bangladeshis exclude them as the majority. Whatever happens, there will be no respect for foreigners they work for the company. And if four scholars decide the wrong decision, the company will go bankrupt.

For these reasons, a state must be secular in the interest of its development. State decisions are always neutral. People of all religions will enjoy equal benefits. Everyone's must keep on a personal level. If where religious issues conflict, they need to resolve politely. No Hindu can be the Chief Justice because there are more Muslims in the country, no Muslim can eat cows because there are more Hindus in the country, everyone has to go to church because there are more Christians in the country. The qualification in any job will be the ability to work, not religion. Don't do anything you don't like. But you can't force who will do what. There is a lot that can be done by patching religion with anything. Even the big devils are not out of it. Secularism is needed to avoid that. If anyone likes it, he obeys the law and eats chickens, goats, cows, dogs, cats, snakes, and frogs as he pleases. If there is no environmental or economic disaster, the state cannot prevent it by law.

I explain. Even then, I do not know how to define this simple thing to those who will see the stubborn "secular means atheist" again. I have respect for all opinions. But it is annoying to see such people as blind haters and ignorant scholars. Since I am not the state, I can make arrangements to remove the annoyance on my level!

Now it is not difficult to know anything. In the age of free science, everything is available on the internet.
